You may have heard of the Lions organisation and wonder what we do and why we do it. Some brief stats: we have over 1.4M members worldwide in 180 different countries. Following an address from Helen Keller, Lions invented the white stick for the blind and helping to eradicate blindness is one of our major causes. All Lions are entirely volunteers; we are a non sectarian, non religious and non political organisation and new members, male and female, are invited to join on the basis that work and family life comes first. We do not have any initiation ceremonies and nor are we a closed organisation. We welcome new members from all walks of life and expect them to soon start contributing to the success of the Club.
